The Amitabha Buddha Statue

Amitabha Buddha—the Buddha of Infinite Light—is the sovereign of the Western Pure Land, Sukhavati. His boundless radiance dispels fear, dissolves obscurations, and guides beings toward liberation through faith, devotion, and remembrance of his holy mantra. Practitioners rely on Amitabha to cultivate compassion, purify negative karma, and create the conditions to be reborn in the Pure Land, where awakening is swiftly accomplished. Khentrul Rinpoche's precious root Guru, Lama Lobsang Trinley taught this practice especially to lay practioners who did not have a chance to receive a lot of Dharma teachings but had strong faith and devotion.

This 7 inch statue of Amitabha Buddha has been meticulously filled, sealed, and consecrated to function as an authentic, living support for Pure Land practice. Its copper-colored finish highlights the serene posture and gentle expression of Amitabha, embodying immeasurable compassion and the promise of liberation.

Amitabha is also the Buddha who resides on the top floor of the Drolmi Kazug Fortune Palace, making this statue particularly auspicious for practitioners constructing or maintaining a Fortune Palace shrine. However, its blessings benefit anyone who has faith in Amitabha or engages in Amitabha or Amitayus practices.

The Motivation for Creating These Statues

Khentrul Rinpoche emphasizes that statues filled with sacred substances are not symbolic ornaments—they are actual supports for awakening. Without proper fillings, mantras, relics, and consecrations, a statue lacks the necessary conditions to embody the awakened qualities of the Buddha it represents.

This Amitabha statue was created with the following intentions:

1. To offer a powerful support for Pure Land practice.

Amitabha is the embodiment of infinite compassion and the promise of rebirth in the Pure Land. Rinpoche wishes for practitioners to have a reliable support for cultivating devotion, purifying karma, and preparing favorable conditions for future lives.

2. To provide an authentically filled and properly consecrated statue.

It is increasingly rare to find small statues that are properly filled. Rinpoche ensures that Dzokden offers only sacred supports that meet the highest standard—not empty statues lacking substance.

3. To uphold and preserve authentic lineage tradition.

True consecration—especially with relics and rare substances—requires great effort, proper empowerments, and trained lamas. Khentrul Rinpoche always asks us to mazimize the effort on the proper fillings for statue. If you think carefully and understand each statue is filled with holy objects combined into relic pills that took so many causes and conditions to come into our precense as well as all the causes and conditions for the sand from various empowerment mandalas. We need to have gratitude for Rinpoche's kindness. These statues embody that careful work.

We are not selling blessings—we are upholding genuine Dharma tradition by offering fully prepared supports for practice for serious practitioners.

Relics, Substances, and Consecration

Each Amitabha statue has been filled with extraordinary care, including:

  • Blessed sand from a variety of empowerments

  • Holy substances and relics from multiple Buddhist traditions

  • Amitabha and Amitayus mantras and seed syllables

  • Amitayus mendrup substances blessed by Nyingma masters

  • Additional sacred relics and rare holy materials that create the proper conditions for the statue to embody Amitabha’s enlightened qualities

Once filled, each statue received multiple layers of consecration, including:

Drolmi Kazug Empowerment Puja (California, 2025)

Invoking the 21 Taras to purify obstacles, harmonize outer and inner conditions, and magnetize prosperity and good fortune.

Additional Blessings & Empowerments

The relics inside include blessed sand and substances from several empowerments conducted by Khentrul Rinpoche, infusing the statue with powerful, multi-lineage blessings.

Benefits of Meditating with the Amitabha Buddha Statue

Purifies Negative Karma

Simply seeing a Buddha image with a wholesome mind carries great karmic benefit.
According to the sutras, even animals who see a Buddha image plant seeds of liberation. Amitabha’s blessings help cleanse obscurations and pacify fears related to death and future lives.

A consecrated statue radiates blessings due to:

  • The mantras inside

  • The relics and substances

  • The Rabne - Consecration and empowerments conducted upon it

Those blessings transform this into a proper nirmakaya support for practice and worship.

Supports Pure Land Rebirth

Faithfully remembering Amitabha connects practitioners with the pure and radiant qualities of Sukhavati.

Deepens Devotion and Compassion

Meditating on Amitabha strengthens the heart’s capacity for love, forgiveness, and Bodhicitta.

Creates Auspicious Conditions for Drolmi Kazug Fortune Palace Practice

Because Amitabha resides on the top floor of the Drolmi Kazug Fortune Palace, this statue is especially supportive for those creating, completing, or maintaining a Fortune Palace.

Supports Practices for Longevity & Vitality

With Amitayus-related substances inside, it supports long life pratices.
