The Garuda Statue Details

Garuda, the mighty king of bird-like deities, is a symbol of fearlessness, vitality, and supreme protection across Tibetan Buddhism. Known for his ability to subdue nāgas, avert diseases, dispel poisons, clear energetic disturbances, and remove subtle obstacles, Garuda embodies the fierce compassion that liberates beings from harm.

This 21 cm brass Garuda statue has been carefully cast, filled, and consecrated to serve as a powerful support for practitioners seeking protection, health, and unobstructed spiritual progress. Rising majestically with outstretched wings, Garuda’s form expresses the dynamic, wrathful energy of enlightened action—cutting through obstacles at the root.

This statue was prepared using the same level of precision, care, and authenticity that Rinpoche places on all sacred supports. It is designed not as a decorative object, but as a powerful embodiment of awakened protection, suitable for practitioners of Garuda, Kalachakra, and the Dzokden tradition.

The Motivation for Creating the Statues

Khentrul Rinpoche repeatedly emphasizes the immense importance of using properly filled and consecrated statues as supports for Dharma practice. In his view, it makes little sense to practice with an empty statue—one lacking the sacred substances, mantras, and blessings needed to embody the enlightened presence of the deity.

Creating a high-quality, consecrated Garuda statue fulfills several important purposes:

1. To provide an authentic, powerful support for protection practice.

Garuda practice is widely used to avert obstacles and neutralize illnesses caused by elemental imbalance, karmic obscurations, or unseen forces. A real, consecrated support dramatically enhances these activities.

2. To preserve accurate forms and living lineage blessings.

As modern times grow more degenerate, authentic sacred objects are increasingly rare. Rinpoche wishes to ensure practitioners have access to accurate representations imbued with genuine spiritual power.

3. Because true consecration is extremely difficult to do properly.

Authentic consecrations require rare substances, proper empowerments, lamas skilled in the ritual, and a community committed to meticulous preparation.

As these conditions are difficult to create outside of a monastic environment, Rinpoche ensures that Dzokden only offers statues that meet the highest standard, rather than empty statues lacking power.

We do not sell blessings—we sell proper Dharma supports prepared exactly as they should be according to tradition.

The Relics and Consecration

Following Khentrul Rinpoche’s instructions for maximum benefit, each Garuda statue was:

Filled with:

  • Garuda mantras for protection, healing, and obstacle removal

  • Kalachakra mantras linking the statue to the stainless wisdom of the Glorious Kalachakra

  • Relics from multiple Buddhist traditions and realized masters

  • Sand from a Shadbhala Garuda Empowerment

  • Sand from a Kalachakra Mandala Empowerment

The combination of multi-lineage relics, mantras, and empowerment-blessed substances makes this statue a rare vessel of vast merit and protection. To fully appreciate all the relics and blessings of the statue you must remember all of the causes and conditions that connect to each of the substances in the statue that took huge merit and good fortune to be present for us in this world.

Consecrated at a Kalachakra Empowerment

After being filled, the statue was blessed and consecrated during a Kalachakra empowerment ceremony. This powerful environment seals the statue with:

  • The wisdom of the Kalachakra deity

  • The protection of Garuda’s wrathful compassion

  • The aspiration for the flourishing of Dharma, Kalachakra practice, and the Golden Age vision

The Benefits of Meditating with the Statue

  1. Dramatically Clears Obstacles
Garuda’s energy is renowned for removing obstacles caused by karmic obscurations, environmental disharmony, negative forces, and subtle illnesses.

  2. Supports Health and Vitality
Garuda practice pacifies sickness associated with elemental imbalance, nāgas, and harmful spirits.

  3. Protects Your Practice and Environment
By invoking the wrathful compassion of Garuda, practitioners create a field of protection for themselves, their families, and their spiritual path.

  4. Strengthens Courage and Fearlessness
Meditating on Garuda inspires confidence, energetic clarity, and the ability to overcome difficulties.

  5. Connects to Kalachakra and the Golden Age Vision
Because it contains Kalachakra mantras and mandala sand, this statue strengthens karmic links to the flourishing of the Kalachakra teachings and the aspiration for a harmonious world.

Note on Consecrated Statues Only

Dzokden does not offer empty statues.
Not because blessings are for sale—but because Khentrul Rinpoche teaches that:

  • A statue without relics, mantras, and consecration cannot function as the authentic support for practice. We should always try our best when it comes to creating conditions.

  • Practitioners deserve sacred objects that genuinely benefit their path.

  • Proper consecration requires rare materials, empowered lamas, and a level of effort that is difficult to replicate outside the monastery.

For this reason, only fully filled and authentically consecrated statues are made available. These are not objects of commerce; they are supports for Dharma, created with immense care for the benefit of practitioners. We need to be clear on this as some people have the wrong understanding.
