The Chenrezig Statue

Chenrezig (Avalokiteshvara) is the Bodhisattva of Great Compassion, the one who hears the cries of the world and tirelessly works for the liberation of all beings. His mantra, Om Mani Padme Hum, is among the most widely recited in the world because it awakens the natural compassion and pure heart within every being.

This 16 cm hand-painted Chenrezig statue shines like a precious jewel—its luminous finish, delicate lines, and refined details evoke the softness and radiance of Chenrezig’s boundless compassion. Crafted to be both aesthetically exquisite and spiritually authentic, it is suitable for any shrine, and practice space.

Each statue has been carefully filled and consecrated, transforming it from a decorative image into a genuine nirmanakaya support for Chenrezig’s enlightened body, speech, and mind.

Blessed by Shar Khentrul Jamphel Lodrö Rinpoche, the statue carries the profound lineage energy of the Kalachakra path and the Dzokden tradition.

The Motivation for Creating These Statues

Khentrul Rinpoche repeatedly emphasizes that statues should not be empty shells. When properly filled with mantras, relics, and sacred substances, a statue becomes alive with spiritual potency and serves as an authentic support for practice.

This Chenrezig statue was created with three core motivations:

1. To provide a true support for cultivating compassion.

Chenrezig embodies the loving-kindness and great compassion at the heart of the Mahayana path. Rinpoche wishes for practitioners to have meaningful supports that help open the heart and deepen bodhicitta. This is the basis to be a compassionate warrior of Shambhala. The Shambhala Dharma King Kalki Pundarika is an emanation of Chenrezig.

2. To uphold the sacred tradition of filling and consecration.

As properly filled statues grow rare, Rinpoche ensures that Dzokden offers only statues blessed and prepared according to classical Tibetan Buddhist methods—not empty or merely symbolic images.

3. To offer a practice support that is both beautiful and spiritually complete.

This statue’s jewel-like appearance symbolizes the inner purity, radiance, and love that Chenrezig helps practitioners uncover.

These statues are not sold for their blessings; they are offered as fully prepared Dharma supports made possible through great effort, rare relics, and qualified consecration.  Please keep this in mind as they are prepared for the benefit of aspiring and serious practitioners. It takes us huge time and effort to gather these statues, substances, prepare them and bless them in a large empowerment and puja in addition to the Rabné.

The Sacred Substances and Consecration

Each Chenrezig statue contains a collection of sacred materials, including:

  • Mantras and seed syllables connected to Chenrezig and other compassionate activities

  • Relics and holy substances from various Buddhist traditions

  • Blessed sands from a Chenrezig Empowerment previously bestowed

  • Additional sacred ingredients assembled according to lineage guidelines

Once filled, each statue received layers of consecration from Khentrul Rinpoche, including:

Benefits of Meditating with the Chenrezig Statue

Awakens Compassion and Bodhicitta

Chenrezig’s presence softens the heart, helping practitioners open to the suffering of others with love and courage. True Bodhicitta is the warrior nature that sees the truth of the way things are and does not give up to awaken all the sentient beings as limitless of space in the 3 times and 10 directions. This requires the largest heart that holds the awareness of ultimate bodhicitta and works tireless for the benefit of others.

Creates Harmony in the Home or Practice Space

The blessings of compassion spread outward, uplifting the environment and anyone who encounters the statue.

Strengthens Mantra Recitation Practice

Reciting Om Mani Padme Hum in the presence of a consecrated image amplifies merit and integrates compassion into daily life.
