Their hair was used to make tent cloth and other textiles, while their milk provided butter, cheese, and other foods essential to life on the Tibetan plateau. For those with a Drolmi Kazug alter setup this animal can represent the wealth of the world. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA fun fact many people do not realize: \u003cstrong\u003ea yak is the male animal, while a dri is the female\u003c\/strong\u003e. So technically, there is no such thing as yak milk, yak butter, or yak cheese—those all come from the dri.
